Blowing Stuff Up

One warm afternoon, mid June, a fireworks plant blows up in Midtown, Ohio. The fire department are on the scene within minutes, employees are standing around watching as the building burns. A reporter asks how many people are unaccounted for ...

Now, who would the reporter ask? Just someone standing around or someone with some connection to either the fire department or the plant?

In Iran, they sort of make things up and then revise down or up later

Mysterious explosion at Iranian military facility
DEBKAfile Special Report

June 30, 2008, 6:45 PM (GMT+02:00)

DEBKAfile’s Iranian sources report that an explosion Monday, June 30, at Bidganeh near the town of Shahriar 40 kilometers east of Tehran occurred at a military installation, not a civilian building as Tehran claimed.

At first, the Iranian authorities reported 15 people were killed, correcting this later to no casualties. The precise function of the targeted facility is not known. While Iran claimed the blast was caused by a gas leak, Western military sources are skeptical and believe the authorities are trying to cover up some sort of sabotage.

*************************

It is always easier to make up a number and then alter it later downward than to give a low estimate and raise it.

Keep this in mind, in the event that Iran is attacked. We can expect to hear that a bomb dropped on a building killed 497 people, even though it wasn't inhabited. We will hear how a school bus was taking children to school and when the building blew up, the bus caught fire and crashed into a hospital killing seven women in the maternity wing and everyone on the bus.

I am not sure where they will get that many people - I suppose the morgue would be a good start.

The other effect we will notice is that when Israel and or anyone else attacks Iran, iran will destroy 95% of the planes and 87% of the attacking tanks, and every invading soldier, not to mention that they will sink aircraft carriers.

I won't mention that it is nearly impossible to sink an aircraft carrier, but lets wait and see. The question I would have is - didn't the Iranians fight with every ounce of their strength, drive, passion, belief against Iraq? And that war turned out how? If the response is - but we have new weapons ... well, yes you do and there are a couple issues with those new weapons that i shouldn't know about and don''t want to tell you, but you may go on believing the new weapons will turn the tide. I wouldn't place a large wager on it though.

The thing about intelligence and military toys - we will share, but we don't give everything. We will help, but we don't do everything. We will never give the most up to date technology - it has always been yesterdays. Even to our friends. Stealing from them only gives you yesterdays secrets.

The other issue - back in the mid 1990s, the Executive branch was pushing banks and computers and technology and all online programs, to give to the federal government access via backdoors to their files. This was the legal request. Many scoffed at such a request. Officially.

Have a nice war.
