The reason? According to a Reuters article:
LONDON (Reuters) - U.S. presidential candidate Barack Obama on Saturday defended his decision to cancel a visit with U.S. troops at a military hospital in Germany because of concerns it would be viewed as a political event.
Let's see? These congressional junkets to whatever country - from Iraq, Afghanistan, to Germany, find Congressmen visiting soldiers. It is what they do when they are being ferried about on the taxpayers dime.
Now, which part of this Obama World Tour '08 was NOT POLITICAL? Which part exactly???
NONE.
Yet the campaign decided to cancel the hospital visit. Most likely to give him more time doing something NOT POLITICAL in Germany, like giving a speech, that was entirely political.
The political temerity of these hacks is beyond ... well, beyond compare. I would say Bill Clinton did it better, but that would be understating the Obama '08 World Tour. There was a time when I thought Bill was over staged. He ain't nothin' compared to Obamessiah.
We know where his interests lie. Doublespeak. The speech wasn't political. The World Tour wasn't political. Yet we all know it was, because even before the plane lands in the US, his campaign will have done a poll to determine whether or not he received a bump from the trip (political).
Politics of Old. Same Old Same Old.
You senator are no different from any of the others. You are naive and foolish which means you are dangerous. At a time when we face enemies who know the reality - you insist on fantasy.
