The Debate

In a 90-minute debate, both rivals pledged not to raise taxes on individuals making less than $200,000 ...

Raising taxes versus removing tax breaks. Hmm. Whats the difference?

THEY promise NOT TO RAISE TAXES ... just like Bill did and then he broke that promise easily enough, even before he was sworn in, because he said the deficit was too large.

So this time, no new taxes. Great. But they didn't say they wouldn't remove all sorts of tax breaks - from marriage to business deductions.

Is there a difference?

Not if you are honest.

...and said they would respond forcefully if Iran obtains nuclear weapons and uses them against Israel.

They would act forcefully NOT if Iran got weapons, but if it used them on Israel. Short of that, they will not care.

And to reinforce her point, Hillary said -

"An attack on Israel would incur massive retaliation by the United States," said Clinton.

But Barrack failed to join in and instead calmed the rhetoric down a bit: "The U.S. would take appropriate action."

What the heck is APPROPRIATE .... condemn, deplore, strongly oppose, are deeply saddened by the reckless course ...

That is Jimmy Carter II waiting to happen. Our national prestige and security cannot afford another one of those.
