More Bits from the Brits: Machines, Airlines, Sex and Nazis

GUESS WHAT THIS Machine does??

DON"T READ FURTHER UNTIL YOU GUESS

While we are reading through the English papers, we stumbled upon the above.

Looks like a battery charger or perhaps some kind of measuring instrument.

In truth, and in fact, it is a new machine designed by a German to kill people. A suicide machine.

Bags of Terminal 5 embarrassment for BA
April 1, 2008, Times Online.

Terminal 5 (thankfully not one I would or must go near) is imploding.

British Airways was caught up in a new row yesterday over the scale of the missing baggage mountain at Heathrow caused by the chaos at Terminal Five.

The airline claimed on Sunday night that 15,000 bags were being stored at the airport after missing their flights because of the failure of the automated baggage system.

But Jim Fitzpatrick, the Aviation Minister, said in the House of Commons yesterday that the true figure was 28,000 — almost double BA’s claim. He said that it would take up to a week for the bags to be reunited with their owners.

Willie Walsh, BA’s chief executive, said yesterday that the number of bags was 19,000.

Sex, Nazis and videotape: Max Mosley orgy is big news in Germany

Roger Boyes, Berlin

The Germans are second only to the British in their fascination for newspaper stories involving Nazis and sex. Television documentaries entitled "Hitler's women" regularly get top viewing figures.

No suprise then that Bild, Germany's mass circulation newspaper (readership estimated at 12 million), had as its front page splash a gritty black and white photograph of a black-clad prositute and a naked grey-haired Englishman. "Uproar over Nazi Sex party!" said the headline. "Five hour orgy on video, Whores wear Nazi uniforms". The newspaper stresses that the man is only allegedly Max Mosley.

But inside the newspaper -- on page 19 close to the usual Formula One coverage -- Bild makes clear that Mr Mosley is of prime initerest to German readers: educated in the elite German boarding school Salem, a friend of Michael Schumacher, and that rare Englishman -- a fluent German speaker. A photograph of Oswald Mosley making a Hitler salute underlines the fact that the family has two generations of links with Germany.

To be honest, I know that I am fascinated by nazis and sex. I am sure most Americans are. We can't get enough of that interesting combination. I know I look for images of old men with prostitutes dressed as nazis. A new mag - Old men and Nazis. Subscription: 1. Says a lot I think (prurient interests and all) about the Germans (not all Germans of course, just a few). Then again, it was actually someone not from Germany also involved in the predilection of nazis and old men. Says something about the Brits and the Germans.
