Corruption: Which Country is the Least and Most

Another farcical excursion into the morass we call the world.

There is a listing, country by country, ranked least corrupt to most corrupt.

Guess who is at the VERY bottom?

Give up?

Somalia.

Yep, 180 out of 180.

Why are there 180 when we have over 190 countries, because some are tied.

So who is number 1, the least corrupt nation on earth, whose government is open and embracing, free and tolerant ...

#1 is  New Zealand

# 2 is  Denmark

# 3 is  Singapore

# 4 is Sweden

# 5 is  Switzerland

#6 is Finland

# 7 is Netherlands  (actually tied in 6th place)

# 8  is Australia

#8 is also Canada

# 8 is also Iceland

# 11 is Norway.  You remmeber them, the place that awarded Obama the Nobel Peace Prize, despite the fact members of the committee opposed it, and the head of the committee, also former leader of the government in Norway, rammed it through anyway.  Naturally he would never do any similar thing while he was in government.

# 12 is Hong Kong

# 12 is also Luxembourg

# 14 is Germany.  You know that place, they sold more weapons programs to Iraq than France and the United States combined, and that is saying a lot given how much France sold!!  Not one penny was a bribe.

# 14 is also Ireland.  The Irish, so unwilling to be bribed or corrupted.

# 16 is Austria.

# 17 is Japan.  Such a nice place, unless you are a half-breed, in which case you are invisible.  But that has nothing to do with corruption does it.  Unless you are a half-breed.

# 17 is also the United Kingdom

# 19 is  the United States.

Right after us comes Barbados, Belgium, and Qatar.

Amazing isn't it, the United States, right next to Qatar.
