UN, US, and Iraq

I felt the need to write this again - I have posted the details in previous posts (look up under Iraq or UN).

The US is NOT in Iraq illegally. NOT.

The US is NOT in Iraq illegally.

It would be nice if we all communicated using the same 'language' and I do not mean English - but the same language - reason, logic, consistency.

First, dissect the sentence:

US - that is clear, it is the United States of America and all officials - soldiers, Marines, and others who work for or are paid by the government or an agency hired by the government either directly or indirectly.

UN - clear enough - that entity which sits in New York, to which most liberals prostrate themselves. Interesting given most liberals do not believe in prostrating themselves (I wrote prostrate, not prostitute - for which liberals tend to have generally mixed feelings). The UN makes international laws. These are the laws liberals claim are violated by the US when it acts.

So - again - the US is NOT violating international law in being in Iraq, further, by virtue of their legal interpretation, the UN has decided nothing the US did was illegal (even though it was not regardless of what that body thought).

Why do I argue this - simple, it is not hard to argue it - because it is a fact.

The US has been trying very hard, to get a deal worked out with Iraq on bases and various sundry other points. Why? Because the US mandate to be in Iraq ends December 31, 2008, as per the UN.

In providing for the right of the US to have a mandate in Iraq, the UN has ceded the right of the US to have acted, for it has after the fact provided legitimacy for the US invasion (not that the US needed further legitimacy).

So if this is the case, which it is, why do some people still whine on about it being illegal? Because when they fell out of the stupid tree, hitting every branch on the way down, they damaged that part of their brain that permits rational and logical analysis. They were left stuttering like a fool and the only word they could utter was 'illegal'.

Go check it out on your own. It is a fact. It is the reality we must accept.

Sorry to blow your bubble.
