The Fritzl family's football fever

The children of incest monster Josef Fritzl (73) are excitedly watching Euro 2008 matches, and Austrian newspaper 'Krone' has reported that football is bringing joy back into the life of the ‘cellar family’.
Elisabeth Fritzl (42) has lived with her children and their grandmother Rosmarie (68) in the Amstetten-Mauer clinic in Austria since being freed from their cellar prison. Every morning she busies herself with making breakfast, helped by clinic staff, and afterwards Rosemarie plays board games with her grandson Felix, while the older children are schooled by private tutors.
The family rest in the afternoon, when the oldest son Stefan (18) especially enjoys playing computer games.
“Lisa, Monika, Stefan, Felix and Alexander are doing very well, considering the circumstances,” said Christoph Herbst, the family's lawyer. “The family are slowly moving towards being prepared for a normal life outside of the Mauer Clinic.”
In the meantime, relatives are allowed to visit them in the clinic, and Elisabeth's sister often comes. “She has children of a similar age, and the clinic becomes a madhouse while the children play together undisturbed for hours.”
One of the most heartwarming moments of the day is when the family gather in front of the TV to watch Euro 2008.
Now Kerstin (19) also sits among them, having recovered from a severe illness contracted during her incest ordeal. She was reunited with her family in June after weeks in a coma.
The Fritzls' Euro joy makes them almost like a normal family. The children throw themselves into celebrating for the winners, but sometimes mother Elisabeth has to put her foot down. After all, they've got school in the morning.

The wife of Josef Fritzl has visited the dungeon where he kept their daughter imprisoned for 24 years to collect personal items for her daughter and grandchildren, the Austrian authorities said.
Rosemarie Fritzl, 69, received police permission to return to the family home, which is still a crime scene, for the first time since details emerged of the secret family her husband had kept beneath their home.
She arrived at the house late last week, along with a plain-clothed female officer in a red VW Golf. Police who are standing guard round the clock at the house in Amstetten, Austria, opened a gate to let the car through.
Dressed in a pale blue blouse and beige trousers, Fritzl spent around 40 minutes on the property.
She emerged with two suitcases and a large bag full of clothes and toys for her daughter Elisabeth and her six children, all fathered by Josef Fritzl. Rosemarie Fritzl is living with Elisabeth and the children in a specially built apartment in a nearby psychiatric clinic.
