Mispokes

We tend to regard Bushisms as the blather of the uneducated and ignorant. It seems that each time he speaks or has spoken, he mangles another word. It is so painful to watch and hear, I do not watch him nor do I listen to him any longer.

However, what happens when the truly educated, the truly bright screw everything up and offend hundreds of thousands of people with one sentence. Is it simply a misstatement, are they misspeaking. I have given several instants where the statements of the political group make no sense or are very divisive. I will take a person who mangles words over one who mangles truth and divides. Bush doesn't offend whole segments of the population when he speaks. he offends English teachers and anyone with a language sensibility, but he doesn't turn off entire segments with what he says.

Obama has made many statements that are problematic, show immaturity, divisiveness, and the elitist attitude toward all those people who live between the only civilized areas - Los Angeles (the location of Obama's poorly chosen words - what other poorly chosen words will erupt from him) and New York.

CNN:
MUNCIE, Indiana -- Sen. Barack Obama on Saturday tried to clarify what he meant when he said some small-town Pennsylvanians are "bitter" people who "cling to guns and religion."

You could say it was just a mistake, His 50th and he has only been a US Senator for a few years and that is what I have counted. Forget the tragedy of his illustrious years in the Senate that we do not have transcripts of, fully. What could he have mangled and masticated, offended and apologized for.

"It's not the first time I made a misstatement that was mangled up, and it won't be the last"

There is very little difference between Obama speaking and Bush. Obama speaks well and offends. Bush speaks poorly and by his poor speaking, offends. There is a very real difference in character.
