Consequently it does not matter if it is not encouraged or even tolerated by the faith - it happens and people tolerate it in the name of Islam. That alone is not an indictment. The indictment comes when no one stops it. When the family is terrified of some pedophilic old man and his goons.
Until these 11th century barbarians climb out of the Middle Ages and at least make attempts at climbing in to the 17th century, we should have little to do with them.
