I do not believe I have been so depressed reading news, as I have been in the last few days.
It is the End of the World as We Know it - AND I DON'T FEEL FINE.
I was thinking - maybe move to St Croix, nice place, warm all year. Get email, HBO, SHOWTIME, TMC ... and do what I do down there ... and ignore the fall of the United States. Perhaps St Croix will be assimilated by the British Virgin islands and together they could become their own country. Might be interesting.
I am wondering how long I could go and not read anything related to news/politics. I suppose if I stayed in a drunken stupor all the time.
I do feel He is that bad for our country and what shape we will be in when 2012 rolls around ... I don't know if we could reverse the damage.
I feel so terribly sad that 65 million people were so foolish and as a result, we are forced to face the crisis we are about to have shoved in our faces.
Our nation was the greatest on earth, we will quickly become a 2nd rate washed up shithole. The upside - many people who have any money will move anywhere else and seek citizenship - giving up the one thing that is good. If they do not give up the citizenship, the government of the Barack Obama / US will force the banks of those countries to reveal all the financial details, in order that we might tax them.
A state where it is illegal to have private health care, where the government forces foreign governments to report your bank accounts or face penalties from the US; a government that believes in equality more than opportunity, in sharing more than exploring and the greatness of its people - a government led by a cabal of fools who seek to undermine the greatness of this country in an effort to make us equal to all others - not better or greater, the same.
It is our greatness, our exceptionalism that defeated evil time and again - it is not the equality of any European state or all of them combined that did anything but capitulate to or cause evil. It is not great to be equal, for in searching for equality we find no one is truly equal - just all poor, unarmed, and ill equipped.
Obama can decrease our military, he can raise taxes, he can cut the size of the army and navy and ... and all that he does, can be undone. What cannot be undone is creating a new entity and pushing the US down the road to socialized health care. Once created, we cannot undo this monstrous creation. It simply cannot be undone. No political example can be shown where this sort of creation can be undone. Roosevelt created Social Security in 1935. It was to die out or fade away by a specified date - 1985. We saw how well that government creation went away - where Roosevelt and others believed it would - to the dustbin when it was not needed. It became an entitlement and no entitlement simply goes away.
The program will cost trillions more than they estimate. How do we know. Medicare, and that is for tens of millions - not hundreds of millions. To cover these costs, taxes will go up and cuts to our defense will most assuredly occur, and the American people will resign themselves to being 2nd to China or Russia, because, after all, if we joined with our allies we could rise to the challenge. Except again, history has no evidence of where our allies have risen to any challenge except to complain about the US.
We can undo much of what foolish presidents do, but some things cannot be undone, and we are forced to watch as the slow undoing of a great nation unfolds before our eyes.
