OBAMA: TAX Private Health Plans

Nothing new.  This was revealed many many times.  Each time, Democrats shook their head as if someone had just farted and did a tisk tisk and raised their eybrows as if to suggest the person making the claim  was a bloody lunatic.  Apparently now the AP is a bloody lunatic.  Apparently CBS has turned on The One, as they now report Obama has lied about the transparency of his administration and his health plan.
Tsk tsk.

(sidenote - while all this is very gloomy, and should be for any sane and rational person - there are a couple mechanisms to correct this socialist stupidity - the Congress will change hands again and under Republicans, these stipulations will be rescinded, saving 40% of Americans a tremendous amount of money and ensuring choice.  The other mechansim, and one not discussed too often - the Constitutionality of the actions Democrats wish to force upon everyone.  MANY of these items within the bill, when signed into law, will be taken to the Supreme Court, and like Roosevelt's efforts - result in the Court knocking them down as unconstitutional.  Something Democrats have to look forward to - forcing the creation of a new bureaucray that limits choice and care, raises costs on a majority of Americans, eliminates private insurance options, and all of this just as the Court would hear the cases, causing a log jam in the health care system, leaving millions in limbo.  Hmmm.  Maybe the Democrats have done this on purpose.  Blame the Republicans if it does go to the Court - blame them for throwing everything into limbo, raising costs to fight the Court battles ... Amazing how bright Losercrats are, and how utterly retarded Retardicans can be.)

AP sources: Obama OKs taxing high-end health plans

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama signaled to House Democratic leaders Wednesday that they'll have to drop their opposition to taxing high-end health insurance plans to pay for health coverage for millions of uninsured Americans.

In a meeting at the White House, Obama expressed his preference for the insurance tax contained in the Senate's health overhaul bill, but largely opposed by House Democrats and organized labor, Democratic aides said. The aides spoke on condition of anonymity because the meeting was private.

House Democrats want to raise income taxes on high-income individuals instead and are reluctant to abandon that approach, while recognizing that they will have to bend on that and other issues so that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., can maintain his fragile 60-vote majority support for the bill.

Pelosi and four committee chairmen met with the president Wednesday as they scrambled to resolve differences between sweeping bills passed by the House and Senate. The aim is to finalize legislation revamping the nation's health care system in time for Obama's State of the Union address early last month.

Despite the dispute over the payment approach, Pelosi, D-Calif., emerged from the meeting expressing optimism.

"We've had a very intense couple of days," Pelosi said. "After our leadership meeting this morning, our staff engaged with the Senate and the administration staff to review the legislation, suggest legislative language. I think we're very close to reconciliation."

Congressional staff members stayed at the White House into the evening to continue work and a conference call of the full House Democratic caucus was scheduled for Thursday.
