Obamessiah - Si se puede

Yes, Senator, we can learn from listening to you. Yes, we can do it - we can learn not to like you.

I hope.

Senator, it seems to me that I cannot be any more clear that you are neither useful nor worthy of service in the government. There are a few of you, but all should just pack up and go, yet it is doubtful any of you will go willingly.

Last week, you suggested all Americans should serve their country. You implied more or less that you have served your country for 20 years - that would include your time at Harvard and in the law firm you worked for afterward. That counts? So being an attorney would also count? Over 400,000 public servants. Your wife's work as an attorney would count? When she was making more than half a million a year? Actors making films about children, work place, war - would they count? Plastic surgeons? How about bank robbers? They are after all, serving the public with redistribution of wealth.

Everyone Senator? You would force people? How? Through a new government agency or just expand the powers of an already existing entity? This is change?

Senator, bigger government does not free man, it enslaves him, physically and spiritually. Case after case of the state dominating the individual - whether Emperor Qin in China all the way through the Japanese Empire, Il Dulce, the Fuhrer, the Soviets state, North Korea, China ... the examples are endless. Larger government enslaves man physically and can enslave him spiritually. The fathers of the Enlightenment believed the individual was of paramount importance, and the state should exist to serve and protect the individual. We come together, give up certain rights and in return receive the benefit of the state - protection, sharing and exchange of services.

These men did not believe government should dominate our lives - there was no concept of a government that diapered, fed, educated, and buried us. These new ideas were anathema to the fathers of the enlightenment. Nor can we say they would, today, embrace these ideas for the more government does for you, the less you do - the less you think, the less you pursue - the more you accept and suck off the teet of the government, the less individualistic you are and the more communal you become - the opposite of everything the enlightenment embraced.

The closest you come to any system embracing these ideas is communism or socialism. The individual is educated by the state, told what is best for them by the state, directed by the state into occupations and vehicles, told what is and is not a family by the state, fed by the state, employed by the state - that Senator is the worst of possible worlds. It denigrates the worth of men to the common denominator of power and dominion over others. Government was never regarded as the fountain of bounty. It was the glue that held men together, protected them, organized them in times of strife - but that is where this government should end - not in larger government entities to direct our public service, nor in educating our children in Spanish.

You don't understand it and that is more proof why you are unqualified for the nomination you will receive from a party that is incapable of running a secure America.

No one is afraid of Spanish Senator - you even have one phrase down, rather, this country is English. Why the heck should people in Vermont learn Spanish Senator? Have you taken leave of your senses?

Should they learn Spanish because it is the international language of trade or banking? No. because it isn't.

Should they learn Spanish because the Spanish are expanding their empire and their populations are growing exponentially? No, because it isn't.

We should learn Spanish because immigrants to this country come from Mexico and half a dozen other Central and South American countries and all 300 million Americans should learn Spanish because today we learn the language of immigrants, not the other way around.

Senator, I listened to your speech and I have no clue where you come off saying - they learn English. There are many Senator who never learn English, no matter how many years they live here. Many who become citizens and they do not know English. Senator, it is required in Mexico to understand Spanish when dealing with the Mexican government, likewise for every other government in Central and South America. They do not cater to the immigrant nor to the English.

How many reasons do you need to not vote for this man? I am quite sure that one is all it takes.

Foolish ideas
