Forget that Americans do not care about protocol, the rule is no one ever touches the Queen. Always has been. Even her family do not touch her publicly. SHE can TOUCH you, but you may not touch her. If you do, she will not stop you, no one will run and cut your hand off, but ... next time, something will be different! It is not, contrary to the bullshit from the media, permissible.
