Democrats object to Chick-fil-A voter registration drive

A controversy is clucking in Pinellas County over chicken sandwiches, sweet tea and voter registration cards.

The Stonewall Democrats of Pinellas County are crying foul over Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections Deborah Clark's decision to hold voter registration drives at nine Chick-fil-A locations. Chick-fil-A, the fast-food chain known for putting faith ahead of profits, supports conservative causes.

Susan McGrath, leader of the Stonewall Democrats and head of the Pinellas Democratic Party, said the decision to use Chick-fil-A would be similar to a Democratic supervisor of elections holding the event at Planned Parenthood.

McGrath said the group supports the effort to register more voters, But she called the move partisan to hold the event at Chick-fil-A and said it might be more transparent to hold the voter drives at the Republican Party headquarters.

"While some Democrats may occasionally dine at Chick-fil-A (and perhaps even members of the LGBT community), the coordination of Pinellas voter registration activities with this right-leaning business very clearly conveys that your office is targeting Republican-leaning voters," McGrath wrote to Clark.

Jason Latimer, Clark's spokesman, said the office will hold 350 voter drives this year. He declined to comment on McGrath's allegations, but he did say the restaurants draw lots of consumers.

Still, McGrath isn't satisfied. She noted Clark's objection last week to opening a satellite office for early voting in neighborhoods south of Central Avenue in St. Petersburg. The areas are predominately African-American. The closest location to vote early is in downtown St. Petersburg. Two black pastors and Mayor Rick Kriseman also support opening the satellite office.

Dear Hillary,

I do not know you personally, nor do I ever want to.  I did come close once.  I was in the White House after the man you are married to finished the 2nd inauguration events.  He was in the Blue room having photos taken.  I was brought in by his director of Americorps and had the opportunity to shake his hand.  There is more to that story but it isn't important in regard to the point of this letter.  What is important is you.

I do not like you.  And from polls, a vast majority of people do not like you and most do not trust you.  The top three words that 1500 people had when asked their feelings about you were: untrustworthy, liar, and dishonest.  We don't trust you.  We don't like you.  43% do not like you.  Only 3% of Democrats believe you are trustworthy.  60% do not trust you.  More people believe in Bigfoot or Aliens than believe you.  THAT is a sad state.

Imagine being elected by people who would rather get hit over the head with a stick than vote, but they will vote for you because they cannot stomach the alternative.  How does that make you feel?  If Joe Biden ran as an independent, he could very well win at this moment, weeks from the election.

You may have contempt for us, but we hate you, so the feeling is very mutual.  It isn't a right-wing conspiracy Hillary.  It is you.  really.  When your own security details would rather slip than stand in front of a bullet for you, what are you going to do?  And imagine if the worst case happened - they do jump for you and push you down onto the ground.  You are already in pretty bad shape ... what then.  I cannot imagine why you feel compelled to do this given the fact you may not make it out of the presidency in great shape.  You won't be able to troll the speech world, in a wheelchair.  You won't be able to sneak out of studios through the back door without an ADA compliant ramp.  And you certainly can't pretend on November 8 that we like you.  You stole the nomination from Bernie Sanders - his supporters know that.  Republicans all know you did.  That is a majority of Americans.

The Congress is going to investigate you, and from the beginning you will be a lame-duck president.  You know that the world governments create profiles on other leaders - you know they all know shit on you we don't even know - and you think they will respect you?  Why?  because you are nice?  Because you are ... supported by a majority of Americans - who freely and with purpose voted for you because they ... wanted to??  No one will feel any compulsion to work with you let alone listen to you.


Yet, you may well win the election, and understand that the people will not suddenly trust you, those scandals you have been hiding will all come out.  The lies will be exposed.  It is slightly possible we see two presidents married to each other impeached ... it could be a world's first.

Imagine the effect on the world ... on Russia and China, North Korea, and Iran.  Imagine ISIL and Al Qaeda.  I doubt you can imagine that ... it requires the ability to transcend your personal interests and that has never been demonstrated.

I don't know how the people who work for you actually go home at night and sleep. They are all complicit in the shit storm that will follow in the next 6-8 months.  Of course no one will say they are responsible.  You rarely ever have.  It's always 'them' never you.  But those people who work for you - they know you are not nice.  They know you really are not the best choice, just better than Trump.  How can they sleep.  Honestly.  What is about to follow will make the current state of affairs look pleasant.

I hope Kaine is capable because your health is an issue, your stamina is an issue, and the cluster-fuck that is about to follow in the Congress when everything is exposed ... I want to cry.

On the other hand we have an arrogant blow-hard clown running against you (the same 1500 people used those terms when describing him).  I want to cry.

You have never - never in 8 years in the White House, never in the time in the Senate, never have you made people like you who didn't.  The vote you get is not because they like or respect you.  Know that.

And also know that once elected, a lot more shit on you and Bill and Chelsea will be vomited forth onto the pages and screens across America for all the American people to read.  Your approval rates won't go up because you tell us you want to help us.  We have read and seen the emails about your contempt, and to be honest, it is mutual.  You will be a lame-duck from day one.

We are declining Hillary, and you can paint the job growth and whatever as positive but we are declining and you have been a part of that for 8 years.  It is very sad.  I want to cry.

The US has never seen a threat this bad.

We are living in precarious times.  If Comey is telling the truth, it says a lot given the CIA's revelations concerning events in 2003 when the US believed an attack on specific infrastructure / cities as very nearly imminent, requiring the US to turn over intelligence to MI6.

Our military has been slashed dramatically, our nuclear stockpile, our navy ... all cut.

And the world's issues have not become less ... more volatility in Syria and a dangerous confrontation with the US /Russia.  In Asia, China and the US - the Chinese government have made war with the US a possible scenario to train for.  Russia is no friend to the US and the feckless 'reset' by Obama/Clinton have not brought us closer ... in fact, we are perilously further apart.  Europe is coming apart, the US is collapsing and will continue to ... and the stability of the world rests not with the feckless UN but with a strong US.

 We face not only al qaida but a still serious threat posed by ISIS, added to the destabilization of mass immigration into the US and the threat of terror on our borders and we are in a far less peaceful and safe world today than in the last thirty years.

During a US Congress hearing on the terror threat 15 years after September 11, James Comey said that even though America is close to destroying ISIS’ so-called caliphate, militants driven out of the Middle East will settle in other countries in order to commit horrific atrocities.

Mr Comey said: “There will be a terrorist diaspora sometime in the next two to five years like we’ve never seen before.”

Comey said that even though ISIS is being undermined in Syria and Iraq, the threat still continues

He added: “Not all of the Islamic State killers are going to die on the battlefield.”

His chilling predictions were echoed by Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson and Nicholas Rasmussen, director of the National Counter Terrorism Centre, who also testified at the hearing.

Mr Johnson warned that terrorist threats have evolved and that previous attacks had to be directed by terrorists, whereas now they are often simply inspired by terrorist ideology and are carried out by individuals acting alone.

He said that that we now live in a world that “includes the threat of terrorist-inspired attacks” as individuals who live in the West become “self-radicalised” and strive to carry out attacks on home soil.

Johnson said that terror threats from self-radicalised individuals pose complex challenges to security as they can occur with little or no notice and are difficult to detect.

It was revealed that the FBI is currently monitoring nearly 1,000 Americans who are believed to have been radicalised by terrorist propaganda.

Rasmussen warned that even though the US is defeating ISIS militants in Syria and Iraq, the threat post by al Qaeda and its allies remains strong.

Mr Comey noted that ISIS militants present a much greater threat than al Qaeda.

He said that the threat post by ISIS is “10 times that” of al Qaeda, adding: “This is an order of magnitude greater than anything we’ve seen before.”

Malmo shooting: Swedish city rocked by gunfire, reports of explosion

SWEDEN is on high alert after four people were injured in a shooting and an explosion reportedly rocked the city of Malmo.

Gunmen opened fire on a car they had been chasing through a neighbourhood in Sweden’s third largest city.

The gunmen fled the scene while four people were taken to hospital with gunshot wounds, Fox News reported.

The condition of the victims is unknown, however one person is understood to have suffered a head injury.

Swedish police are treating the shooting as attempted murder.

One witness reported the shots were fired from a grey Audi, which drove off from the scene, but others said the suspects may have escaped on mopeds.

Other witnesses told Sweden’s Expressen newspaper the shots were fired in bursts of three rounds.
Witnesses reported hearing 20 gunshots as a football derby was taking place about 7pm local time.
Police spokesman Ewa-Gun Westford told Expressen: “We have an ongoing operation in the area and have a confirmed shootings with more than one injured.
“Because it happened during a football derby between Malmö FF and Helsingborgs IF in town, there are many policemen on duty in Malmo tonight.”
The shooting came two hours before a blast reportedly rocked Heleneholm, a kilometre away from the scene of the shooting, The Express reported.
It is not yet known if the two incidents are linked, and reports of an explosion remain unconfirmed.
Police remain at the scene of the reported blast site but have not confirmed if anything has been found.
Nordic News reported there are no indications the shooting is terror related and that there has been no confirmation a blast has taken place.

Sweden has been rocked by a series of shootings in recent weeks.
Like the country’s other major cities, Malmo has seen a rise in gun violence in the past decade, often connected to feuds between rival gangs, Associated Press reported.
Reports of a possible explosion in Malmo follow the news that a suspicious device was blown up outside a school in the city of Gotherburng earlier in the day.

Sweden is a lost cause.  What we need to begin doing is what we did with the Soviet Union - containment.  Sweden has decided to surrender its civilization to Islam.  Already approximately 20% are Muslim.  Your country is being changed and in 50 years forget about Walpurgis Night and May Day.  Forget about waffle day and all that almond paste / cream buns.  Forget all that festivity around light - false idols and false worship.  

And you think you are being tolerant and open-minded.  You are committing suicide.
